A Wee Blue Hummer
Have I mentioned how excited I still get when I see a hummingbird? I don’t think I will ever tire of seeing their tiny wings flitting and darting about. I love painting them and take a great deal of creative licence when it comes to colours and markings. I let my intuitive sense of colour be my guide rather than trying to be true to the species. Like my other humming bird pieces, this started as a fluid acrylic pour in the background.

I use high resolution scans to create a great quality print in various sizes. The print is adhered to a gallery index (1.5″ high) wood panel using my custom process. The image is sealed with medium, and varnish to create a smooth finish. I appreciate that art is an investment and while owning an original is desirable it is often not easy on the finances! I developed this process to share my work on a smaller and more affordable scale. My prints are perfect for any room in your home or office, They sit well on shelves and mantles and do not need to be hung on a wall. They make adding and changing your decor easy, affordable and make great gifts.
